Virtual STEM Lab Monday Spring Session

  • The Atom: April 26- June 7. No class on 05/31.

Ages 6-9

Mondays 4:15- 5:00 (EST)

6 sessions

Tuition: $108

In this virtual STEM Lab students are introduced to the structure of the atom, elements, molecules and chemical reactions. We make models and do fun experiments.  It’s a great hands-on experience!

Session consists of 6 virtual, 45 minute long, weekly sessions taught via Zoom by Eugenia Rojas, PhD.

What is the structure of the class?

The instructor will be guiding the activities remotely on live stream video using Zoom (no account needed). A link to zoom meeting and a password to access the meeting will be shared and you and your child/children can easily perform the experiments for this class from home. You only need to collect a few materials previous to the class that are of easy access at home.

Each class is dedicated to one topic and it follows the following structure:

  • Welcome to class and introduction: greeting of students and caregivers, brief discussion to introduce the topic of the class.
  • Story time: the reading of a picture book related to the topic of the class.
  • Class activity: Hands-on and dynamic activities, which may include experiments, science-arts and crafts, engineering challenges and/or games.
  • Clean up and good-bye

About the instructor- Eugenia Rojas, PhD

Eugenia develops and instructs STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) enrichment programs for children. Her hands-on classes take advantage of children’s natural curiosity to facilitate learning through play and inquiry, building critical and analytical thinking. In her classroom students learn to generate hypotheses and experiment to experience scientific learning. Students participate in collaborative projects, provide their own input, try and make things.
