In this class our young scientists will explore living organisms through experimentation, play and the making of models. Students will plant seeds and observe them grow to full plants. We will also learn about insects as we make models, experiments and engineering design challenges.
What is the structure of the class?
Each class is dedicated to one topic and it follows the following structure:
Welcome to class and introduction: greeting of students and caregivers, brief discussion to introduce the topic of the class.
Story time: the reading of a picture book related to the topic of the class.
Class activity: Hands-on and dynamic activities, which may include experiments, science-arts and crafts, engineering challenges and/or games.

About the instructor- Eugenia Rojas, PhD
Eugenia develops and instructs STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) enrichment programs for children. Her hands-on classes take advantage of children’s natural curiosity to facilitate learning through play and inquiry, building critical and analytical thinking. In her classroom students learn to generate hypotheses and experiment to experience scientific learning. Students participate in collaborative projects, provide their own input, try and make things.
In case of inclement weather we will extend the session as needed.Please note that all fees are strictly non-transferable and non-refundable. Should COVID or other extenuating circumstances require us to cease in-person sessions, we will transition to virtual learning; fees are not refundable in those circumstances.
